This week's haiku theme over at Jenn's fabulous blog is free-style -- which means I can express whatever is on my mind and in my heart. And what's on my mind is tragic, people:

Oh, no! The school year
Starts next week. I'm not ready
For that hectic pace!

 Good-bye to summer.
Sleeping in, trips to the beach --
All behind me now.

I'm volunteering
Again! Somebody stop me
Before it's too late!

    I just visited Virginia a week ago. My son is attending Georgetown. Boy was it hot!!! I can imagine you are looking forward to fall weather.

    Hi Liz! In all my California-ing I missed my chance to add a haiku or two.

    I missed my deadline:
    Liz did Silly Haiku Day
    And I'm four days late.

    Just under the wire,
    Eldest seemed to remember
    He is a human.
