Silly Haiku Wednesday

Join the fun!

Jenn's theme this week is LIGHT.

My tall boy needs no
step ladder or chair to change
a light bulb. He's tall.

I woke up -- the light
outside seemed different. "Get
up! We've overslept!!"

Thy word is a lamp
unto my feet, and thus a
light unto my path.

  1. Your haiku skills rock,
    Creativity unleashed,
    Difficult for some

  2. One of my favorite verses. Love your posts as usual. Have a great day. Holly at

  3. naturally delish!
    i like this lots...

  4. The light has turned on,
    Wheels turning, cogs engaging.
    But nobody's home.

    or, if you prefer

  5. LOL! Your first one is GREAT - and I love the picture with it too! The last one is a favorite verse of mine as well... not sure it qualifies as an "original" haiku - but it's a good one!

  6. Please, may I borrow your tall ... I mean, your boy? I have shelves I cannot reach.

And that last Haiku is my favorite. I think you may like mine, as well.

  7. Hey, me again Liz. Thanks for the comment on my blog. Here is my haiku'ed reply:

    High school angst abounds!
    The drama is palpable...
    Blame it on hormones!

  8. Hello Liz! Just gave you an award on my come on over and get it. Feelin the love:) Holly at

  9. Fantastic. Love the haiku - just having a discussion about them the other day! Now I will be thinking about them all night.

  10. Great Haiku's again, I know that feeling when you realise the room's just a bit too bright for you to be awake in time!

  11. Wonderful haiku(s)! WOW he really is tall!!! Handy guy to have around I bet.

Always a delight to see what you've come up with each week. I do believe we've tapped into a haiku vein here ;)

Your friends leaving haiku comments? Fabulous!! Get them to join in next week - the more the merrier!

  12. My son is 6'3 and 1/2". The first time I saw him reach up and touch the living room ceiling, I said "With God as my witness, I shall never stand on a chair again!"
